Recently, in a conversation with Empire, the lead actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who plays Simon Williams/Wonder Man in the series, has affirmed that the show’s “self-aware” style will delve directly into superhero fatigue and other themes.
“We are creating something that, in terms of tone, seems quite different from any other Marvel series or films. We’re crafting something that feels innovative, slightly tongue-in-cheek, and somewhat self-aware,” Mateen elaborates.
