Here’s the secret with items in Peak: While the game indicates its title, it doesn’t clarify what an item actually does. Some are fairly straightforward to infer from their appearance alone, but more frequently, you should be cautious about utilizing something to evade penalties or negatively impacting the expedition unintentionally. Don’t worry, however—if you’re curious about what items like the book of bones or the shroomberries do, the list below contains all items in Peak and their functions, providing you with a handy reference to clear any uncertainties in the group chat.

Peak Items Inventory and Their Functions

The inventory includes every item up to the Roots update of Peak, which was officially launched on November 5. There have been several minor patches, but overall, here are all the items available thus far. Note that we’re bypassing most of the food items, as their functions are mostly self-explanatory.

Ancient Effigy Revives any deceased player or players.
Ancient Idol Grants invincibility to everything… as long as you hold it, that is.
Antidote Partially cures poison
Anti-rope Cannon When aimed at a surface, it deploys a rope that “ascends” instead, starting from the point of impact.
Anti-rope Spool Deploys a rope that “ascends” instead.
Backpack Can contain up to four items
Bandages Partially restores health.
Berrynana You can toss it on the ground to make others tumble.
Big Lollipop Grants unlimited stamina for about seven seconds, followed by the drowsy status.
Bing Bong Essentially a cute plush, part of a challenging achievement requiring you to complete a run while carrying it, akin to Gnome Chompski in Left 4 Dead 2.
Binoculars No unusual effect here. They’re merely binoculars.
Blowgun Fires a dart that removes negative statuses except for curses. The targeted player will be temporarily drowsy.
Blue Shroomberry Random adverse effect.
Book of Bones Transforms a player into a skeleton, making them immune to most status ailments.
