Corpse Party Tetralogy Pack Switch Western Release Cancelled

It did not align with existing platform regulations

In August, XSEED Games revealed the Corpse Party Tetralogy Pack would be arriving “exclusively” on the Nintendo Switch in 2025. This collection was intended to feature Corpse Party (2001), Book of Shadows, Sweet Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Base, and Blood Drive.

However, it has now been called off in the west. Numerous titles within this collection failed to meet the “existing platform regulations.” This has led to the cancellation of the physical edition of this collection (as well as digital access to previously unreleased games). The publisher did not provide further details on this matter, yet this situation is not unprecedented for an upcoming Switch launch.

Here’s the official announcement regarding this from the XSEED Games social media platform:

Corpse Party enthusiasts:

We understand how eagerly you awaited the launch of the Corpse Party Tetralogy Pack. Although we have released titles from the Corpse Party series on console platforms and digital marketplaces in the West before, we received word that the content of various games in the Tetralogy Pack did not meet existing platform regulations. Consequently, we cannot launch these titles as planned, resulting in the cancellation of the physical release of the Corpse Party Tetralogy Pack, along with digital access to previously unreleased Corpse Party titles featured in the Tetralogy Pack.

We apologize for any misunderstanding and sadness this may have caused. We remain dedicated to collaborating with our partners at MAGES to bring Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion to the West and will provide further details regarding its release when possible. Thank you for your comprehension and continued support of XSEED Games and the Corpse Party franchise.

As mentioned, XSEED continues to strive to collaborate with MAGES to locally launch Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion in the future, so any updates regarding this will be shared.
