Members of Disney Plus will soon have the capability to produce videos for the platform using AI, as stated by CEO Bob Iger. He disclosed intentions for such functionalities during a year-end earnings call, part of collaborations between technology suppliers and the House of Mouse.
Disney Plus is set to experience “the largest and most impactful transformations” to the service since its inception in 2019, Iger noted, according to The Hollywood Reporter. These changes are “from a product viewpoint, from a technological stance,” and will permit users to create and distribute videos to some extent.

Evidently, there have already been “constructive dialogues” between Disney and various firms involved in generative-AI technology, and Iger aims to discover a method of integrating these enhancements that honors “our obligation to safeguard the IP.” This is fundamentally an advancement of the corporation’s prior practices, as the Marvel series Secret Wars faced criticism for incorporating AI elements in its introductory credits.
Iger’s remarks are already inciting dissent. “Opt-out of Disney Plus,” Dana Terrace, the creator of Disney original The Owl House, tweeted on X/Twitter. “Pirate Owl House. I’m indifferent. Damn gen AI.”
Seems like you’ll soon have the capability to craft your own clunky, poorly designed Mickey Mouse or The Lion King flick for others to gaze upon. How this all becomes actualized, and what it accomplishes, still remains to be seen.
Regardless, we have a resource for all the latest Disney films, ensuring that you can still discover some magic in your life.
