Abu Dhabi’s legendary Yas Marina circuit is set to arrive in Gran Turismo 7 as part of its complimentary Spec 3 update next month, where it’s bound to impress in Polyphony Digital’s grasp.
However, the revival of a beloved vehicle hinted at in a brand-new trailer is what’s got enthusiasts buzzing: the outrageous Renault Espace F1.
The automobile previously garnered a fan following in 1999, when it was featured in Gran Turismo 2. Following extensive fan support, it’s returning as part of the impending update.
You can catch a glimpse of the ride at approximately the 00:32 mark in the mentioned trailer, and without a doubt, all the comments on YouTube are discussing its addition.
“The crazy folks at [Polyphony Digital] finally accomplished it; they brought Espace F1 back home,” one commenter expressed. “My 25-year wait is finally over. One of the legends of Gran Turismo 2 is returning, baby!”
It’s rather entertaining to witness such a surge of affection for such an eccentric automobile.
Initially showcased in the mid-90s, the vehicle appears as a Renault Espace from the exterior but incorporates F1 elements, enabling it to reach maximum speeds of up to 312km/h.
The vehicle’s addition, along with the fans’ response, highlights the distinctive type of fan community Gran Turismo has fostered over the years.
