Back in May 2023, long before Umamusume: Pretty Derby debuted in English, developer Cygames was taken to court by Konami over claims of patent violation. Today, the firm revealed that it has resolved that litigation, although it still maintains that it did not breach Konami’s patents.

The resolution was declared by Cygames’ parent organization, CyberAgent, earlier today. “Since the lawsuit commenced on March 31, 2023,” the statement states, “Cygames has pursued invalidation trials for all 18 patents involved in the litigation and remains assured that no patent infringement has taken place. However, Cygames opted to settle the issue to resolve it quickly and guarantee that users of Uma Musume Pretty Derby can relish the experience
