“Avoid termination and survive.”
In the last year, we have witnessed the Poppy Playtime horror franchise successfully migrating to Xbox, with those titles frequently appearing in the “Top Paid” Xbox rankings, so it’s no surprise to observe similar games making the leap.
Dollmare appears to be quite a comparable horror title to Poppy Playtime – a brief (up to four hours) yet enjoyable adventure where you assume the role of a factory worker at a doll manufacturer who must evade being dismissed and remain alive.
And indeed, you can grab this one for merely £4.19 / $4.99 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S!
“You were in urgent need of cash to cover your rent, so you accepted a position at a doll factory. What initially appeared to be a quick way to earn some money turned out to be far more malevolent.”
“Meticulously examine each doll for unusual defects and sinister behaviors. Identify every irregularity, from minor imperfections to unsettling movements, and guarantee that only the ‘safe’ dolls proceed.”
Reviewing the feedback on Steam for Dollmare, which is rated as “Very Positive” on average, numerous players highlight that it’s more unsettling than outright terrifying, and even the synopsis hints at this as well:
“You will not encounter a monster pursuing you. There will be no screams or sudden jumps in your path. There’s no need to combat anyone or gather resources. However, this isn’t a relaxing experience. It’s still classified as a horror game. You will experience fear, discomfort, and a sense of dread, as if someone is watching you or something might occur. Rest assured, something will. This game was crafted by developers who are too frightened to indulge in other horror titles, thus they created this.”
Therefore, if this piques your interest and you can part with $4.99, Dollmare is now officially out as of today on the Xbox Store. We might give it a go just out of curiosity – Poppy’s Playtime ended up being surprisingly enjoyable for just $5!
