Update: situations are gradually getting back to normal
- by Ben Kerry
Update #2 []: We’re beginning to receive indications that the Xbox service is gradually returning to normal, and we can verify that our complete game libraries and the Microsoft Store are operational on console here in the UK. However, this may be a gradual process, with the Azure Status page still showing the following update at the time of writing.
Update #1 []: Microsoft’s Azure Status page has just been updated to indicate that it anticipates full recovery to occur “within the next four hours” – or by 4:20pm PT / 7:20pm ET / 23:20pm GMT.
At the moment of this update, we are still encountering issues on Xbox concerning the dashboard, our entire game libraries and the Microsoft Store.
Original Story: We are observing reports online that a significant Microsoft Azure server outage is causing issues across Xbox, Windows and other Microsoft services that are internet-connected.
As reported by The Verge, Microsoft has acknowledged Azure Portal concerns on the service’s status page, while Microsoft 365 has addressed the outage on social media as well, stating that it is “investigating reports of issues” currently. We will provide the status update below:
Regarding Xbox services specifically, the Xbox Support page isn’t loading at all at present – and reports are coming in from numerous users that Xbox Live isn’t functioning on console. From our side, we are establishing a connection on Xbox Series X, but with restricted access and dashboard errors.
It’s advisable to monitor the Microsoft Azure Down Detector page to observe how the situation develops, and we’ll furnish an update if and when we have more information.
Comment below and let us know if you’re facing these Xbox Live issues at the moment.
