“Just be aware that we are developing even more”

With no indication of a brand new Fallout title arriving in the upcoming years, it was left to Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and Fallout: New Vegas to headline Fallout Day yesterday.
With the Xbox Series X|S, PC RPG Starfield still receiving updates (with a PS5 version presumably under development), and The Elder Scrolls 6 still appearing to be years away, it is easy to envision a scenario where a new Fallout installment seems to be extremely, extremely distant in the timeline.
In reply to these worries, Bethesda leader Todd Howard concluded the Fallout Day livestream by assuring fans that the developer is “developing even more” regarding the series. His complete statement reads:
Even though I am recording this—it’s not live—and I may be watching myself right now from my desk, reading your chat and these… that item you desire and this other item you seek… Hey, we notice everything. Just be aware that we are developing even more. We are eager for the day when we can share that with everyone.
As for what Bethesda might be developing, a Fallout 5 will likely be at the top of fans’ desires. Nonetheless, there are also rumors of a remaster of Fallout 3 being in progress. This was reported in 2023 alongside an Oblivion remake, which has now become a reality. Bethesda collaborated with Virtuos to revive the RPG classic using Unreal Engine 5, and despite some ongoing technical issues, it is overall a magnificent remaster of the game.
Regarding what Bethesda did disclose yesterday, it was confirmed that a Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is arriving on PS5, PS4 next month to commemorate 10 years of the game. Following that, next year, Fallout 76 will receive a native PS5 version, along with a unique re-release of Fallout: New Vegas on PC.
When do you predict we will finally witness a new single-player Fallout installment? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
