Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted debuted for the Switch and Switch 2 this week, and PopCap has already implemented some enhancements. These updates will be available on both platforms shortly.

To start, we have Patch 1.2. Below are all the modifications included in this patch, covering enhancements to visuals, the Vs Mode, gameplay, sound, and additional aspects. Here’s the complete summary via the Steam game page:

PVZ: Replanted: Launch Day Patch v1.2

Visual:

  • Resolved Twin Sunflowers’ faces being overly small; they should now align with their petals.
  • Adjusted Zomboss’s eyes to match the correct color corresponding to his attack.
  • Modified Split Pea to fire with both eyes open.
  • Corrected BrownCoat Zombie’s retro skin so that arms detach properly.
  • Updated Pumpkin to display the damaged state appropriately.
  • Implemented a Health Bar for Dr Zomboss (Good attempt Dr Z).
  • Fixed Roof Cleaners flying at the start of roof levels
  • Corrected Disco Zombie’s hair when his head is severed (ouch).
  • Amended I, Zombie Too to display the accurate name.
  • Adjusted Pole Vaulter Zombie to lose their actual head upon defeat.
  • Fixed Butter not showing on the retro zombie skin when applied.
  • Rectified Magnetshroom’s items to layer appropriately
  • Updated Retro Zombie to no longer exhibit sunglasses or mustaches upon death.

Vs Mode:

  • Jack in the Box, Catapult, and Newspaper zombie now show up in battles.
  • Flower Pot & Planter are no longer available for selection in Versus Mode.
  • Sun and Brains no longer obstruct placement in surrounding areas.

Gameplay:

  • You can now interact with the seed selector to cancel placement instead of needing to click away from the seed selector first.
  • Additional lawnmowers will no longer emerge in Vasebreaker.
  • Ice Trap positioning has been adjusted for both Bungie Zombie and Gargantuar.
  • In Co-Op mode, both players can no longer select the same seed packet simultaneously.

Sound:

  • Turbo Speed will no longer accelerate the OST.
  • The Shop now plays the appropriate music regardless of player origin.
  • Pausing the game now correctly halts the Audio.
  • Invalid placement alert in Versus mode now plays the correct sound effect.
  • Doomshroom & Jalapeno now use the accurate sound when annihilating tombstones.

Miscellaneous:

  • Numerous fixes to various assets when in High Contrast Mode
  • Multiple UI corrections related to absent or misplaced assets
  • Various bugs resolved related to UX due to resolution/control scheme adjustments.

In addition, PopCap has disclosed that it’s already developing Patch 1.2.1. This will go live in the upcoming weeks, and information regarding this patch will be shared later.
