Metroid Prime 4: Beyond premieres on the Switch 2 and Switch this December, and in anticipation of the much-anticipated launch, Nintendo is commemorating the Metroid franchise in various manners.

Currently, it is providing a unique Metroid Desktop Metal Display, inspired by the original NES release. This item is exclusively for Switch Online members in the US at the moment, costs 1000 Platinum Points (shipping fees may apply), and is “available until stock lasts”. Below is the official description along with the product specifications:

Enhance your workspace with the classic Metroid™ metal display—exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers!

Showcase your enthusiasm for the legendary Metroid™ game with this exclusive metal desktop display, accessible to anyone with a paid Nintendo Switch Online account. Featuring the classic original NES™ packaging artwork on a metal panel, this item rests on a chic black acrylic base engraved with the My Nintendo logo. It’s a fashionable and nostalgic homage for any enthusiast or collector who has journeyed through Zebes and confronted the Space Pirates.

This item includes a protective film on both surfaces. If you notice the film is old or resistant, gently warm it using a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive, then carefully peel it away. Be cautious not to overheat the metal surface. Additionally, keep in mind that the panel edges might be sharp—handle with caution.

Panel: 5 in x 7.125 in
Thickness: 1 mm
Base: 5 in x 1.2 in x 0.8 in

This latest metal display joins previously available ones themed around Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Mario Bros. 3.

This week, Nintendo also incorporated the Metroid II: Return of Samus soundtrack into the Nintendo Music application. Information is also starting to appear online about the Metroid Prime 1-3 art book, and there’s even a complimentary digital sample.
