At least three IP-oriented expansions verified

- by Liam Croft

One of the finest aspects of the initial PowerWash Simulator edition was how its post-launch DLC embraced diverse gaming and general media IPs. You could cleanse various locations and objects from Final Fantasy VII Remake or visit Bikini Bottom for a SpongeBob SquarePants add-on.
Now, the creator FuturLab has confirmed it will be reenacting this approach with the newly launched PowerWash Simulator 2.
Over the next year, three IP-oriented DLC packages will debut in Q1, Q2, and Q3. The studio has not specified what those IPs will be, but they will accompany complimentary Caldera Chronicles tasks. All the IP-themed expansions will be monetized.
Additionally, the overall game will see enhancements through added features, quality-of-life upgrades, more community activities, and additional items of furniture and skins. This initiative kicks off in 2026, and in the interim, FuturLab will implement “fixes, further optimizations, and QOL enhancements.” The game launches tomorrow for PS5.
In our PowerWash Simulator 2 PS5 review, we provided a 7/10 rating, commending the experience’s diverse array of levels, refined tools, and tranquil gameplay loop. “PowerWash Simulator 2 isn’t transforming the genre; it’s a revamp of the original that enhances nearly every aspect,” we remarked. “It may not persuade any critics, but if you cherished the peaceful, zen-like bliss of washing down buildings, this is a must-play.”

Liam grew up with a PlayStation controller in his grasp and a passion for Metal Gear Solid. Presently, he’s engrossed in playing the latest PS5 titles while also supporting Derby County. That last point is his Achilles’ heel.
