Electronic Arts and the NFL have declared an “expanded, multi-year exclusive contract” that will enable EA to keep producing new Madden titles for the foreseeable future. EA mentioned that this is the “most thorough partnership” established so far between the two entities.
The financial specifics of the agreement were not revealed, but EA confirmed that the Madden NFL series will persist and that EA will stay the sole developer of “simulation” NFL games. The agreement also encompasses “new content and experiences” for EA’s College Football series, along with “new, large-scale interactive experiences for football enthusiasts…”

EA and the NFL haven’t disclosed much about forthcoming endeavors, but the companies hinted at a “reimagining” of “interactive football experiences.” The goal here is to allow players to “play, watch, create, and connect.”
EA and the NFL had already somewhat broadened their collaboration, as EA acted as the presenting sponsor for the recent NFL game held in Dublin.
EA revealed this agreement with the NFL shortly after confirming it was selling itself to an investor consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s PIF for $55 billion.
While the EA’s Madden NFL series continues, the company’s attempts to revive its college basketball game series seem to be falling short.
The Madden series is an annual powerhouse, frequently ranking among the top-selling games each year in the US. So far in 2025, Madden NFL 26 is the No. 7 best-selling game of the year in the US.
