Arriving as a complimentary update this December!

In July, Ubisoft revealed its plans to introduce a third-person mode for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to align with the impending Fire and Ash film premiere – and today, the team has offered an enhanced view of the mode prior to its 2025 Xbox debut.
You can catch that enhanced view above – and we say catch because, well, the video is a mere 30 seconds long. Nonetheless, compared to the original reveal back in July — which featured just a few brief clips as part of a broader ViDoc — this provides us a far clearer understanding of how the shift in perspective will operate in Frontiers of Pandora later this year.
“Engage with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora from an alternate viewpoint: Third-Person Mode, New Game+, and more, set for release in the next game update on December 5, 2025.”
Unveil Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes, a fresh action-adventure expansion inspired by the new Avatar: Fire and Ash film, arriving December 19, 2025.
As highlighted in the aforementioned quote, the team’s third-person mode is part of a complimentary update on December 5th, which also includes New Game+ and various additional features. Then, coinciding with the film’s release date, a premium ‘From the Ashes‘ expansion will be launched for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – on December 19th.
Overall, this is shaping up to be a robust enhancement to the game – and we are certainly keen to try out the third-person mode later this year. Despite some reservations regarding the main game, we can’t overlook that Ubisoft has crafted a stunning open world here – one that possibly deserved to be appreciated from a third-person angle all along!
