We’re merely a week away!
We are now just under a week until the launch of the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X! With so little time remaining until the unveiling, it is unsurprising that the handheld has started appearing in numerous locations.
On the Xbox Ally Reddit, several individuals have indicated that Best Buy is visibly displaying the system in one particular store – and reportedly one person requested an employee to “ring it up” for them, but they were informed that it wasn’t feasible!
What’s possibly even more captivating is that TIME Magazine has lauded the ROG Xbox Ally X as one of the “finest inventions of 2025”, featuring it in a significant new article on the outlet’s site.
Here’s what TIME has to remark about the device:
“Gaming behaviors have become increasingly mobile, and the ROG Xbox Ally X is ASUS and Microsoft’s answer to this phenomenon. The two firms collaborated to create a robust handheld console intended to cater to gamers across platforms. “It would have been straightforward for us to create another enclosed environment,” states Jason Beaumont, vice president of Xbox experiences at Microsoft. “But [gamers] wanted the ability to enjoy their games regardless of their origin.” Scheduled for release in October, the handheld can access compatible games from a user’s PC or Xbox collection. Moreover, since the device operates on Windows 11, it can also play PC games from various third-party stores.”
Several other snippets of fresh footage and impressions are circulating online, but we’re somewhat reluctant to disseminate it – some of the videos appear to have been captured rather poorly and do not accurately reflect the kind of experience players are genuinely experiencing, while impressions remain quite scarce at this point.
