Not initially Ubisoft titles, yet they are nowadays!
In addition to all the Ubisoft titles that were introduced to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass earlier this month, the company very subtly rolled out two additional ones late last week – both of which are exclusive to PC Game Pass.
These consist of Heroes of Might and Magic 2 – Gold Edition and Heroes of Might and Magic 3 – Complete Edition, credited to Ubisoft even though the earliest iterations of these games were developed by New World Computing and released by The 3DO Company.
For those who haven’t encountered them previously, these are both iconic turn-based fantasy games from the mid to late ’90s, with the Gold and Complete Editions offering extra expansions (one and two respectively) as compared to their original launches.
If you’re not a PC Game Pass subscriber, you can acquire these titles for the affordable price of just £9.19 / $9.99 on the Microsoft Store. However, it’s worth noting that they are only accessible on PC and cannot be played on Xbox consoles in any form.
If you’re curious why Ubisoft has unexpectedly included these titles in PC Game Pass, it’s related to the series’ recent 30th Anniversary Celebration – which featured further details (and a PC demo) for the impending prequel, “Olden Era“.

This bundle encompasses the original “Heroes of Might and Magic III,” along with its two expansions: “Armageddon’s Blade” and “The Shadow of Death.” Heroes III: The Restoration of Erathia™. Betrayed and resurrected by Necromancers as an undead lich, the late king of Erathia orders its neighboring foes to capture his former kingdom. His advance is impeded when his daughter Catherine, Queen of Enroth, returns to her homeland’s shores.
