It has also received a frame rate enhancement on Switch
When the 3D illustrated platformer Ruffy and the Riverside premiered on Nintendo systems in June, we observed that there were some performance challenges across both the Switch and Switch 2.
It appears the developers have now recognized these challenges in the most recent game update by modifying the frame rate on both hybrid consoles. On the Switch 2, you can now anticipate 60fps, and on the original system, you can generally expect “enhanced fps” compared to before.
This “major” new update also reportedly enhances several other features of the game. This involves a “more fluid camera” and “improved combat”. Here’s the complete summary:
Here’s what we shared regarding the frame rate of this title on the Switch and Switch 2 in our Nintendo Life review:
On Switch 1, the framerate encounters difficulties at moments, particularly when the game shifts into new areas in real-time. Transitioning smoothly across the world comes with its drawbacks, apparently. It’s unfortunate, and while these issues haven’t significantly diminished my enjoyment, they are present, and a patch to rectify this (and to reinstate the previous gyro) would be greatly appreciated.
For Switch 2 users, the performance troubles observed on Switch 1 do translate to the newer console, and alternating between the two (bad puns pouring out of me today), there’s hardly any distinction apart from perhaps a minor enhancement in loading durations.
