Why is this an occurrence?
Battlefield 6 is currently available, and following a four-year hiatus since 2042, numerous players will be diving into the game’s extensive multiplayer features in the days ahead – and for years beyond, to be honest. Bringing along a solid team is always advisable in Battlefield, but it turns out, that team will gain advantages if they play on PlayStation compared to other systems.
As highlighted by CharlieIntel, it’s been found that teaming up with two or more PS Plus members grants your entire BF6 group an additional 5% in bonus XP. While this isn’t a substantial increase — you actually receive another 5% bonus just for being in a party initially — it still feels somewhat absurd to provide platform-based XP enhancements like this, particularly in these times where crossplay is prevalent in most multiplayer titles.
Will this lead many players to switch platforms for Battlefield 6? Unlikely – however, a 5% XP increase is probably not enough to persuade a PlayStation user to remain solely for that reason. This just feels a bit antiquated, if we’re honest, and the minimal boost makes it seem even more trivial. Oh well, we suppose we’ll have to accept it!
Timed and platform exclusives have been a commonality in gaming (with Xbox, it’s more of a relic now), so we understand – we’re just uncertain about who benefits, particularly in such insignificant instances like this. Regardless, we’ll keep enjoying BF6 on Xbox in the upcoming days – and hopefully accumulate enough additional XP to bridge that gap.
