Update []: Your input has been tallied, and the findings are set to be confirmed…
Push Square’s Game of the Month for September 2025 is Silent Hill F.
As noted in our initial poll article, September was a packed month for new PS5 launches. Many votes were dispersed among several prominent titles, but none could rival Konami’s latest survival horror entry.
In total, over 1,350 votes were submitted (we informed you it was a considerable amount), spread across 18 distinct games. Here are the top five, according to your selections:

- Silent Hill F – 356 votes (26%)
- Hollow Knight: Silksong – 302 votes (22%)
- Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter – 138 votes (10%)
- Borderlands 4 – 97 votes (7%)
- Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles – 91 votes (7%)
We wouldn’t assert that Silent Hill F garnered glowing reviews. Critics were predominantly positive regarding the game, yet it did not receive particularly breathtaking scores.
Nevertheless, it’s undoubtedly struck a chord with gamers. Its striking atmosphere and consistently unsettling tone have already established the game as a fan favorite, which is always pleasing to observe.
We characterized it as “a daring new installment in the Silent Hill narrative” in our Silent Hill F PS5 review.
“Embrace it for what it is, and you’ll uncover one of PS5’s most intense experiences,” we concluded.
Congratulations, Hinako and companions. We hope this recognition grants you some measure of solace as you contend with nightmares of your own creation.
Original Story: September was a seriously packed month for fresh PS5 launches, to the extent that you could easily contend it was the finest of the year thus far.
Alright, so October seems poised to present September with a genuine challenge, but we’ve distributed numerous review scores throughout the past 30 days or so.
Naturally, we must begin with Hollow Knight: Silksong, simply because it took so long to arrive. Team Cherry’s highly awaited sequel commanded attention owing to its unexpected re-reveal and release, and it appears to have resonated well with the Hollow Knight community.
Although it presents a vastly different gaming experience, Borderlands 4 found itself in a comparable position. Another eagerly anticipated sequel, the looter shooter suffered from poor technical performance, which certainly dampened what should have been a grand comeback.
Nevertheless, Gearbox’s latest attempt has made a significant impact, and it will be intriguing to observe if it can contend with September’s other major contenders in this Game of the Month poll…
We believe Silent Hill F, on the other hand, might turn out to be a bit contentious among fans, but it remains a high-profile title and likely narrates one of the most memorable stories of any game released last month.
Transitioning from tales to Trails, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter deserves notable mention for its remarkable success. A comprehensive remake of Falcom’s inaugural Trails adventure, the JRPG has amassed impressive review scores and now stands among the strongest entries in the entire series.
Surveying the remaining September releases, a wealth of variety abounds. From Baby Steps to EA Sports FC 26, it seems there was something for every player. Heck, even Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles finally became real.
With our musings out of the way, it’s nearly time to cast your vote for your Game of the Month. But first, a brief rundown of our prior winners…
