New month, new NSO avatars. With the Nintendo Switch Online Missions & Rewards Program, you can acquire some rather distinctive avatars for your Switch profile.

Now, you might collect some avatars for Mario Party 3 — and they’re really delightful, too — but have you checked out those Mario’s Super Picross avatars? No? Well, take a glance at them! (Thanks to NSO Icon Alerts for showcasing them!)

These avatars, displayed below, are part of the monthly Play & Redeem initiative for NSO users. All you need to do is launch Mario’s Super Picross on the SNES app, and thereafter you can purchase those avatar elements using Platinum Points.

It hardly takes 10 seconds if you have the SNES app installed already, so if you fancy them and you possess the points… What’s holding you back?

Mario’s Super Picross was incorporated into the Nintendo Classics service (previously Nintendo Switch Online) back in 2020. Serving as a direct follow-up to the Game Boy original, this version is mostly identical, except once you complete the first level, you’ll gain access to Wario’s iteration of the game, where you have extra rules to ponder.

The title was exclusively launched in Japan on the Super Famicom, although it did arrive on the PAL Wii and Wii U Virtual Console platforms in 2007 and 2013 respectively.

Luckily, the Switch Online version is accessible to everyone. Additionally, if you possess a Switch 2 (or a USB mouse), you can actually play it with mouse controls as well!
