One of the most impressive retro gaming-themed Lego kits is available at an excellent price on Amazon and Walmart. Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi, a 1,215-piece display model aimed at adults, is priced at $104 (down from $130) in anticipation of Prime Big Deal Days. The interactive set pays tribute to the Super Nintendo’s 16-bit graphic style, marking it as the sole Nintendo Lego kit that brings pixel art to life.

Mario & Yoshi debuted last October as one of the more budget-friendly options in Lego’s limited range of official Nintendo kits designed for adults and collectors. The collection now features eight models, including the Lego Game Boy, which was just released this week.

Lego Super Mario World: Mario and Yoshi is a 1,215-piece assembly that faithfully recreates the pixelated style from the Super Nintendo period. It’s an enjoyable build that serves as an ideal display item for all Super Mario enthusiasts, particularly those with an appreciation for the 16-bit character designs.

The finished model measures 15.5 x 10 x 4 inches and boasts several interactive features. A dial located behind Yoshi’s head allows his tongue to extend. The crank on the base’s side generates a more intricate animation. Yoshi’s legs animate to simulate running. Enhancing the illusion, the figure exhibits a quick bouncing motion. Yoshi’s head moves forward and back, and Mario’s cape flutters gently, just as depicted in the game.

Additionally, it includes an Action Tag, enabling interaction with any of the Adventures with Lego Super Mario starter sets, where the Interactive figures (Mario, Luigi, or Peach) will respond.

Lego has done an excellent job making the instructions straightforward to follow. I utilized both the physical instruction manual and the Lego Builder app on my iPad. The square pieces used for the “pixel art” are numbered in the manual, which was incredibly useful for me as an individual with color vision deficiency.

Though

Technically part of Lego’s 18-plus “for adults” series, children who have constructed sets with 1,000 pieces likely won’t encounter any difficulties.

Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi serves as a fantastic collectible for players who experienced childhood in the ’90s. It shines alongside the Lego Game Boy on a display shelf. The 421-piece model of the Game Boy DMG was officially released on October 1—exactly one year subsequent to Mario & Yoshi. This $60 building kit closely resembles a 1:1 replica of the original. It includes two buildable cartridges—The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land—and a pair of display stands: one for the handheld console and another for the cartridge. The additional cartridge fits into the Game Boy’s cartridge slot. Also included are lenticular screens showcasing the Game Boy boot sequence, a cutscene from Link’s Awakening, and the initial level of Super Mario Land.

The Game Boy represents the second Lego Nintendo display model of 2025. In May, Lego introduced a 1,972-piece Mario Kart display model for $170. This intricate build features Mario’s legendary red kart and the inaugural realistic Lego likeness of the character’s contemporary 3D appearance.

We have compiled all eight Nintendo display sets for you below. The only other discounted set is the 540-piece Piranha Plant for $48 (was $60). Regrettably, two of the other classic gaming Nintendo sets are officially discontinued: the Lego NES and Super Mario 64 Question Block. And a heads up: The Mighty Bowser is nearing retirement, making it unlikely to find in stores after this holiday season. The other two discontinued Nintendo display models retail for significantly more than their original prices, and the 2,807-piece Bowser set is expected to follow this trend once it is officially retired.
