The cube dissolved into Loot Lake, turning it crimson and bouncy, and that marked the conclusion for Fortnite OG Season 5. Now, as we commence OG Season 6, it appears that the charming cube that rolled around the island last season may indeed harbor malevolent intentions, as it prepares to unleash a swarm of eerie extradimensional creatures everywhere.
If it roughly adheres to the narrative laid out by the original version of the season, Fortnite OG Season 6 is poised to be the mode’s finest yet—with the cube’s continuing actions and the emergence of cube monsters making OG mode seem more vibrant than ever before. The original Season 6 also signaled the inaugural true Fortnitemares event, making it quite impressive that they timed it to coincide with 2025’s Fortnitemares, which has just commenced with the introduction of the KPop Demon Hunters.
A new season brings fresh features to discuss, from alterations to the island and its loot pool, to the new OG Pass and live events that players can anticipate this season. Let’s delve into it.
Season 6 OG pass
The new OG Pass includes three novel variations of skins that were exclusively available from the original Season 6 pass: Calamity, Dire, and DJ Yonder. None of these come as a significant surprise, particularly after Epic distributed new footwear in DJ Yonder’s style for free to all who attended the initial hour of Fortnite’s recent Daft Punk Experience. The pass is priced at 1,000 V-Bucks and is valid until November 29.
Fortnite OG Season 6 map changes
Season 6 doesn’t introduce a plethora of changes to the island, as all named locations remain in the new season. What does alter, however, is that the cube has tainted several different areas across the island—and these locations will become significant when Fortnitemares commences.
Live events
In the initial version of Season 6, the colossal cube continued rolling across the island just as it did during the concluding phase of Season 5—this time navigating through each of the territories around the island that had been corrupted with cube energy. During Fortnitemares, cube fragments were dispersed across the island and spawned cube monsters. After the spooky season concluded, the cube returned to Loot Lake and detonated, transporting all players to another dimension where they encountered a multitude of rift butterflies.
This all unfolded in the middle of the season, and we anticipate them to be replicated in some manner in Fortnite OG Season 6—though likely with some modifications. There was no live finale event during Season 6.
New Fortnite OG Season 6 loot pool
Unlike more contemporary seasons of Fortnite, those Chapter 1 seasons didn’t exchange half the loot pool the moment the in-game calendar updated. Instead, the fundamental pool of items remained consistent with what it was at the end of the preceding season, with new items being introduced gradually throughout the season rather than all at once. We don’t know precisely when everything will be incorporated during OG Season 6, but you can discover information about the new items below. They are listed in the sequence they were added to the original Chapter 1 Season 6.
Shadow Stones
Consuming these items transforms players into a ghost that is almost invisible and can pass through walls and other barriers for 45 seconds—a strangely lengthy duration for something like this. However, the reason they last so long is because you cannot carry these with you—you must consume them where you find them.
Chiller trap
The Chiller will freeze your feet if you step on it, which can be highly advantageous for moving quickly or causing your foes to slide out into the storm during the endgame.
Quad Launcher
This is fundamentally the same as the standard rocket launcher, except it can load four missiles simultaneously and features automatic firing. The rockets, however, are still rather slow.
Quad crasher
The shopping cart in Season 4 was Fortnite’s inaugural vehicle, the golf cart in Season 5 was Fortnite’s first tolerable vehicle, and the Quadcrasher ATV in Season 6 is Fortnite’s first vehicle that’s genuinely enjoyable.
Six Shooter
This revolver discharges very rapidly from the hip and much more slowly and accurately when aiming down sights.
Pumpkin Launcher
For Fortnitemares, Epic reintroduced the Pumpkin Launcher into the loot pool. This item is functionally equivalent to the standard Rocket Launcher, with the sole difference being that it fires explosive, chuckling Jack-O-Lanterns instead of rockets.
Fiend Hunter Crossbow
This crossbow is completely distinct from the sniper-like crossbow that was included
in Season 2. The Fiend Hunter is a compact-to-intermediate-range weapon that discharges quickly in comparison to the standard variant.
Balloons
Employ balloons to gain elevation on your foes–but if they deflate, you’ll plunge to your demise, so proceed with caution.
Heavy AR
A delayed-firing yet more powerful variation of the regular Assault Rifle, the Heavy AR shines at greater distances if your aim is on point.
Dynamite
Dynamite is perfect for when you desire to introduce a touch of mayhem to your box encounters, featuring its extensive explosion radius and substantial damage to structures. Just make sure to fuse it for a moment before throwing it, or you may end up with your opponent tossing your dynamite sticks right back at you.
