While analyzing the recent emergence of (gasp) Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) in this week’s installment of Peacemaker, James Gunn was queried by Variety if we might anticipate his arch enemy to swoop in and make a cameo as well. Nonetheless, Gunn made it Kryptonian crystal apparent that there would be no extraordinary surprise.

And indeed, what Lex and Rick Flag are scheming significantly impacts an aspect of Man of Tomorrow,” elaborated Gunn, referencing the Superman sequel, which may or may not feature a Brainiac. “So all of that is linked.”
Could this signify the inception of a daunting alliance between two highly motivated and influential beings?
