Ponder this!
- by PJ O’Reilly
I must admit, I had never come across G-Mode’s Kuukiyomi series before – it was never mentioned to me even once. [Tsk tsk, PJ – you ought to catch up on the charming reader suggestions on nintendolife.com! – Ed.]
I find it quite bewildering, as based on the official description of KUUKIYOMI 4: Consider It — now that my interest has finally been piqued by Daan Koopman and the positive reactions on social media you can observe below! — it seems like something I was meant to experience. It perfectly aligns with my quirky tastes.

The central idea here is that you embody a naive young child, returning to a state of mental innocence, before being thrust into scenarios where decisions must be made. The game articulates it better, though:
“Consider It with purity while reflecting on various occurrences that everyone must have encountered in their childhood.
The fundamental rule of determining actions in situations by maneuvering the red object on the display remains unchanged. Please contemplate the condition and interpret the ambiance according to the diverse scenes that will be posed.
A total of 100 scenarios will be presented. Following all the queries, your “ability to gauge the atmosphere” will be evaluated.”
I’ve consistently felt I required an assessment for that.
Kuukiyomi 4: Consider It then places you in the kinds of awkward scenarios that have me roaring with laughter, all the while poking fun at how difficult it is to locate the Switch 2 in shops. As visible in the video above, it specifically alludes to the lottery system Nintendo is operating in Japan: “Could you put that console aside? It’s too dazzling for someone like me, who didn’t win one.”
It also makes use of the console’s functionalities (while discussing them within the game), providing some fresh mouse and motion-controlled entertainment along with content not featured in the Switch 1 version, such as five minigames that require two Joy-Con in Mouse Mode.
Now, for the technical aspect. The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Kuukiyomi 4 is currently offered at a 30% discount on the eShop, pricing it at £8.04 (or whatever that corresponds to in your location). And if you purchased the Switch 1 version, there is an upgrade package available for that as well, also reduced to £3.59 at the time of writing.
So yes, I’m absolutely jumping in this weekend to discover just how amusing it truly is!
Have you experienced Kuukiyomi 4: Consider It!, or any of the other entries in the series? Share your thoughts!
