I perceive you
If you’re thrilled to plunge into Dragon Quest I & II HD Remake on 30th October, well, you’ll be able to do that quite literally, as Square Enix has unveiled an entirely new area, specifically added to Dragon Quest II, in this remake (thanks, Gematsu!).
The Seabed is (as you might anticipate) an aquatic area that you can access as soon as you obtain the boat. And it’s in this spot where you’ll encounter the merfolk, residing in the aptly-named Mersea. However, there’s no time to unwind, as they are under threat from monsters.
New dungeons and foes await you, including Mariella, who is one of Hargon’s (the main villain, in case you’re unfamiliar with DQII) Champions.
Fresh narrative content will also be included in this new area; yesterday, at the Xbox Tokyo Game Show Showcase, producer Haysaka Masaaki revealed a brief segment of gameplay from the Seabed, which you can view above.
We have been receiving an abundance of DQ I&II updates recently, which is logical considering the game releases next month. Just a few days ago, Square Enix provided us with a glimpse of some additional new content, where the Seabed was previously hinted at. It was also showcased briefly during the Nintendo Direct on 12th September in Japan.
