Marvel-ous

It appears that each day brings new insights into IO Interactive’s 007 First Light, and today, the team has included another notable name in the game’s expanding roster.
As shown in the trailer above, Gemma Chan has joined the team as Dr. Selina Tan, MI6’s Leader of Tactical Simulation. Per the official IO description, Tan is “an exceptional and enthusiastic scholar with expertise in psychology and game theory whose position at MI6 is vital in Bond’s quest to attain the 00 designation”.
Here’s a bit more information about this new Bond character from an IO Interactive blog entry on Xbox Wire:
Selina supervises a state-of-the-art program aimed at evaluating and enhancing the abilities of MI6’s most promising candidates. With her expertise in psychology, tactics, and immersive technologies, she is as compelling as she is creative.
Although we don’t see Chan in extensive action in the trailer above, we do receive confirmation that this is a voice and likeness part, so anticipate seeing a lot of this recognizable face as you navigate through the spy escapade.
If you’re curious about where you’ve encountered that face before, Gemma Chan is likely most recognized for her significant roles in major productions such as Marvel’s Eternals, Crazy Rich Asians, and The Creator. Nevertheless, aficionados of British television will probably recognize Chan from her leading role in the Channel 4 sci-fi series Humans, or her appearance in the remarkable 2009 Doctor Who special, ‘The Waters of Mars’.
Chan joins other notable actors like The OA‘s Patrick Gibson and The Walking Dead‘s Lennie James in the forthcoming Bond action-adventure, which is set to launch on Switch 2 on 27th March 2026.
