Sony has unveiled the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers in yet another subtle push into the PC gaming domain.
To be fair, PlayStation’s latest wireless speakers are crafted to be compatible with PS5s and PS5 Pros in addition to PCs and Macs, but seriously, who is actually swapping out their soundbar under the main TV for these? These are specifically designed to complement a 27″ to 32″ PC desktop monitor.
Sony launched the Pulse Elevate speakers during today’s PlayStation State of Play, presenting a notably minimalist aesthetic that comes in both black and white, and is indeed depicted flanking a PC/PS5 setup in the advertisement.

In a blog accompanying the announcement, Sony states that the Pulse Elevate speakers enhance “the immersive next-level gaming audio experience we presented to players with Pulse Elite wireless headset and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds, merging powerful technologies such as planar magnetic drivers and PlayStation Link into innovative formats for players to engage with their preferred games.
“As the initial wireless speakers crafted by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Pulse Elevate integrates effortlessly within a PS5, PC, or Mac desktop gaming configuration and can be utilized on the go with a PlayStation Portal remote player or smartphone.”
The speakers deliver “realistic desktop audio across the complete audible range,” according to Sony, thanks to “studio-inspired planar magnetic drivers” and, for the PS5 titles that accommodate Sony’s exclusive Tempest 3D AudioTech, sound cues that are positioned “with remarkable precision.”
Additional features encompass an integrated microphone with AI-driven noise reduction, a built-in rechargeable battery for mobile gaming, Bluetooth connectivity, and numerous settings to customize the audio to your preference.
One aspect I’m somewhat concerned about, to be honest: cost. As far as I can see, Sony has not disclosed any information regarding the pricing of these devices, but considering Sony’s historically high-priced first-party peripherals – not to mention tariff-driven price increases here in the US – well, I’ll be guarding my wallet’s eyes when that news becomes available.
The speakers will be available for purchase next year.
Meanwhile, here are the best PS5 games you can enjoy right now.
