Launching on 12th February with an entirely fresh campaign
SEGA has declared Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, a remastered version of the third installment in the Ryu ga Gotoku series, first launched on the PS3 in 2009. It will be available on 12th February for PS5 and PS4.
The game alternates between the well-known locale Kamurocho and Okinawa, where the seasoned lead character Kazuma Kiryu is taking a break, managing his Sunshine Orphanage. (Or, humorously, Morning Glory Orphanage as it’s referred to in Japanese.)
Of course, it doesn’t take long for Tojo Clan tensions and political drama to disturb Kiryu’s relatively tranquil life – and pull him back into the shady criminal underbelly he believed he had escaped.
This upgraded re-release will feature “additional scenes” that “offer greater depth and sentiment to the cherished narrative with new and improved side activities that immerse you in the environment like never before, and much more”.
Furthermore, it will introduce a new campaign titled Dark Ties. Here’s how the publisher characterizes it:
“Discover the fresh storyline of Yoshitaka Mine from Yakuza 3 in an included standalone game. Once at the helm of a thriving startup, he chose to plunge into the murky world of the yakuza after losing everything. With an empty soul, the quest for genuine connections propels him forward in a dramatic adventure colored by thrilling boxing-focused combat, and a range of captivating side activities.”
The standard game will retail for £54.99/$59.99, but there’s also a Digital Deluxe Edition for £69.99/$74.99 which includes:
- Legendary Outfit Pack
- Legendary Lads & Gals Pack
- Ryukyu Gal Gang Customization Pack
- Flip Phone Customization Pack
- Legendary Background Music CD Set
