Studio “condemns” the posts

Sucker Punch

Sucker Punch co-founder Brian Fleming has shared comment on the firing of former employee Drew Harrison, following her social media posts surrounding the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Speaking to Game File in a new interview, Fleming said the following:

Drew’s no longer an employee here. I think we’re aligned as a studio that celebrating or making light of someone’s murder is a deal-breaker for us, and we condemn that, kind of in no uncertain terms. That’s sort of our studio, and that’s kind of where we are.

Stephen Totilo, the journalist behind the interview, followed up on the response by questioning how you can “weigh [up] a person’s 10-year run at a studio against a social media post”. However, a Sony representative present in the interview said there won’t be any further comments made on the matter.

As the developer prepares to release Ghost of Yotei for PS5 on 2nd October 2025, the studio has been at the centre of social media back and forth over the comments made by Harrison. In reference to Luigi Mangione, who killed Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, Harrison posted: “I hope the shooter’s name is Mario so that Luigi knows his bro got his back.”

Having served as a Senior Staff Character Artist at Sucker Punch Productions, it was confirmed that Harrison was fired as a result of the posts.
