The Borderlands series revolves around hunting hard-to-find gear, and in Borderlands 4, you can once again punch in a few Shift vouchers to snap up an immediate top-tier upgrade. Shift vouchers are making a comeback, and each exchangeable for Golden Keys will grant access to the special Golden crates scattered across Belton’s Bore, The Launchpad, Carcadia, or The Lockaway.
Our expectation is that every voucher will still hand over Golden Keys that unlock a crate stuffed with hard-to-find items and fresh cosmetic looks for your Vault Hunter. We’ll keep an eye on every Shift voucher and the titles where they work, so bookmark this space for regular additions.

Steps to cash in Shift vouchers
Start by setting up a Shift profile on Gearbox’s site—a fast, painless process. After that, you can submit vouchers on the same portal or through the in-game Social tab once Borderlands 4 is live. Remember, most vouchers carry a shelf life, so snag the freebies right away.
Once claimed, you can stash those Golden Keys for later or splurge immediately on a shiny haul of equipment.
A quick heads-up: Contents of the crates adjust to the level you are when you open them, so consider hanging onto a Golden Key until you’re higher level. Opening one at low level will yield a peashooter instead of a weapon worth keeping.
