Well, Luffy here

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 first launched over five years ago, so it’s a miracle this PS5 version exists at all.
But publisher Bandai Namco is going all-in on the re-release, which will deploy alongside a third Character Pass, featuring six new characters.
And here’s a first look at the game, comparing PS4 footage to PS5. The maker promises improved graphic quality and more troops on screen.
The game’s expected to offer a free update, although this hasn’t been confirmed for the west just yet. In Japan the upgrade costs ¥100 (~$0.68), but this is because companies can’t legally offer a free upgrade due to ratings restrictions and other legal issues.
By the way, if you’re planning to purchase the new Character Pass, here are the confirmed characters thus far:
- Character Pack 7: To be released around Q4 2025
- Lucci -CP0- + Costume
- New Playable Character + Costume
- New Playable Character + Costume
- Character Pack 8: Special Selection: To be released around Q1 2026
- Eneru
- King
- Z
- Shanks Additional Special Move ‘Divine Departure’ (Character Pass 3 Bonus)
There’s currently no confirmed release date for the PS5 upgrade, but Bandai Namco insists it’ll be out this year. Will you be picking it up?
