New Official ROG Xbox Ally Video Shows Off Its Advanced Zero Gravity Cooling System

“The Xbox Ally stays cool, quiet, and reliable.”

We’re still eagerly awaiting an official price and for pre-orders to begin for the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally handheld(s), but before we get there, ASUS is still trickling out plenty of new information about what to expect from it.

In fact, someone over at the Xbox Ally Reddit community has spotted an unlisted video from ASUS discussing the “advanced Zero Gravity cooling system” in the ROG Xbox Ally, and it’s a pretty interesting watch! You can see it above.

It mentions how the Xbox Ally uses Anti-Gravity heat pipes to transfer heat away from the processor by using an improved capillary structure for the wick – something that even works upside down. Meanwhile, the fans are larger in size and move 15% more air than the existing ROG Ally X, while the touchscreen is cooler, noise is reduced thanks to a third exhaust vent and dust filters on the air intake vents, and it even packs a redesigned heat sink.

All of that is explained in the video, and here’s the official blurb for it:

“To deliver the ultimate portable gaming experience, we designed an advanced Zero Gravity cooling system that keeps the Ally running smoothly no matter how you hold it. From intense sessions on the couch to gaming on the go, the Xbox Ally stays cool, quiet, and reliable.”

Bizarrely, ASUS has kept that video unlisted on YouTube for the past month, so you can’t actually find it without the link – we’re not sure how it was discovered on the Xbox Ally subreddit (but we’re glad it was!).

Perhaps they’re just trying to trickle them out, which makes sense when you consider they also put out a video on the ROG Xbox Ally’s ergonomics the other day, which you can watch at the bottom of this article. It’s not quite as interesting, but it’s still a nice insight into how the device will feel when it’s in your hands.

Obviously we’ll let you know as soon as we get more details on the price and pre-orders for the ROG Xbox Ally, which should be very soon – the device itself will be out in a month’s time, so they’re going to have to hurry up a bit!
