Poll: Did You Buy a PS1 at Launch?

Allow us to apologise in advance for writing an article that’s going to make some of you feel extremely old, but we just can’t ignore the fact that the PS1 — the original PlayStation console — is now 30 years old (in North America and Europe). How time flies.

This was the machine that changed everything, transforming the video game landscape forever. Push Square wouldn’t exist without it, and for our money, it remains one of the greatest consoles ever made.

We could go ahead and list classic PS1 games just to stoke everyone’s nostalgia, but honestly, we’d be here all day. The system’s library is utterly stuffed with legendary titles — many of which are still referenced as direct inspirations for modern releases.

As you can probably tell, we could sit here and gush about the PS1 for hours, days, possibly even weeks, but let’s get down to the point of this article: we want to know if you were there three whole decades ago, playing the PS1.
