As the FF7 Remake draws closer to its late-year debut
- penned by Ben Kerry
Early in January we caught whispers that a handful of recent Final Fantasy adventures were Xbox-bound, among them FF7 Remake and FF16 – and, up to now, those leaks have largely panned out. So when the same tipster, NateTheHate, once more chimes in, we pay attention; according to him, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth remains slated for a 2026 arrival.
Posting in the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, the well-known informant has again pencilled FF7 Rebirth in for next year. “Rebirth is coming to Switch 2 and Xbox in 2026,” they assert, though no narrower release slot is offered.
As noted earlier, this chatter began back in January, when NateTheHate also forecast that Final Fantasy 7 Remake would land in 2025 and that Final Fantasy 16 would eventually shadow-drop. Both predictions have since materialised: 16 appeared without warning during the Xbox Games Showcase, while 7 was locked in for Winter 2025.
Therefore, even though Rebirth hasn’t been officially confirmed for Xbox so far, NateTheHate’s history implies the sequel should reach the console sometime in 2026. For now, the opening chapter of Square Enix’s FF7 Remake is still scheduled to reach Xbox this winter, as detailed in the linked story above.
