Merging adorable Japanese gachapon visuals with time-honored tycoon sim systems, Vending Machine Co. is arriving to let you construct a hands-free cash-flow realm. The tycoon title will launch in complete form later this year, but right now it’s teasing its kawaii vibe with a no-cost Steam trial.

Japan’s fame for ubiquitous vending contraptions is legendary, and this fresh management sim hands you the keys to your own nationwide dispenser network. Pick which district hosts your units and decide what fills their trays, since varied shopper groups tend to favor differing merchandise.

Although Vending Machine Co. walks the familiar tycoon path, its charming hand-drawn look and oddly therapeutic refilling loop brings to mind the snug indie darling Unpacking. Overseeing your units triggers bite-sized side activities, whether patching parts, scrubbing surfaces, or stacking and tallying profits.

The complete edition is slated for an unannounced arrival sometime this year, yet the complimentary sampler is already live. That demo recently scored a modest patch, injecting two extra boroughs to scout and plant machines in, plus the usual assortment of crash fixes and number tweaks.

Once the final build lands, expect a roster of additional districts—think a suit-filled business quarter, a sightseeing hotspot circling a shrine, and a campus zone packed with students. The finished product will also pack extra products, micro-tasks, and trinkets to collect, nudging entrepreneurs to wander its quirky streets beyond merely expanding their dispenser dominion.
