Leveling Up

Action Game Lost Soul Aside Improves with New PS5 Patch 1

As highlighted in our Lost Soul Aside PS5 review, the title still needs extra refinement before we can give it an unconditional thumbs-up.

Still, it delivers several bright spots, so it’s encouraging to watch studio UltiZero Games take notes and start polishing the shipped build.

A freshly issued update, ready for download right now, rolls out a slate of enhancements – touching on combat feel, pacing, and overall equilibrium.

The complete changelog, first posted on social channels, is reprinted underneath:

PS5 & PC: Bug Fixes

  • Squashed a rare glitch that stopped the upgrade screen from becoming available.
  • No fresh save is necessary — the panel unlocks automatically once the patch is applied.

PS5 & PC: Gameplay Optimisations

  • Greatsword techniques: retuned attack timing and tightened input response.
  • Auto-save: smarter triggers inside Chapter 4.
  • Kaser roll: rebalanced i-frames for silkier dodging.
  • NPC motions: polished for more fluid playback.
  • Pad layout: extra preset added to the options.
  • Puzzles & mini-games: re-scaled for better pacing.
  • Cinematics & credits: skip prompt now appears instantly.
  • Skill gains: set to 3 points whenever a new weapon is obtained.
  • Divine gold yield: boosted across Hard, Nightmare, and Dispersed Dimension.
  • Boss tuning: tweaked for Normal, Hard, and Nightmare tiers.
  • Ability & boss VFX: streamlined for clearer visual reads.
  • Shop stock: tweaked refresh timers for the arms dealer.

PC-Specific Fixes

  • Ironed out hitches, stutters, and frame-drops tied to certain Windows builds.

We still saw merit in Lost Soul Aside at launch, so here’s hoping these tweaks smooth the ride.

“We’re of two minds about Lost Soul Aside,” our review stated. “One side celebrates its intricate combat sandbox and the freedom it hands the player. The other winces at the threadbare plot, flat cast, and a world that fails to stick in the memory.”
