Square Enix Reveals Xbox Tech Specs For 2025 RPG Octopath Traveler 0

By on September 7, 2025 0 0 Views

Up to 120FPS on Xbox!

During Nintendo’s July 2025 Direct livestream, Square Enix revealed two new RPGs also coming to Xbox including Octopath Traveler 0, and now the team has revealed exactly how the game will perform on Series X and S consoles ahead of its December launch.

On Xbox Series X, Octopath Traveler 0 will run at “up to 4K” resolution and “up to 120FPS” frame rate, while on Xbox Series S, the RPG will be running at “up to 1080p” resolution and also “up to 120FPS” frame rate. These are Square Enix’s targets, and we’re expecting both resolutions and frame rates to be dynamic in nature given the wording here.

Additionally, the team has also revealed the max number of buildings that can be built in-game for each console – this mechanic is seemingly hardware-limited. Thankfully, Xbox Series X and S allow the max ‘town-building’ limit of 500 buildings (the lowest is Nintendo Switch with 250 buildings), which is good to hear. Don’t forget that this one is Xbox Play Anywhere, too!

If you missed the game’s Xbox reveal a month or so back, then as the name suggests, Octopath Traveler 0 is a prequel to the Square Enix RPG series – and it hits Series X and S consoles on December 4th, 2025. For more information on the upcoming title, check out our roundup on it from the July 2025 Nintendo Direct down below.
