Tales Of Xillia Remastered Coming This October, Confirmed 30fps For Switch

No ballad, no melody — nothing for now.

Bandai Namco has at last locked in another entry in the Tales renovation pipeline. Surprise, surprise: it’s Tales of Xillia Remastered, and the destination is Switch 1.

Following last week’s slip, none of us flinched, yet the reveal still delivered two curve-balls — launch day is 31 October 2025, and this package cradles only the first Xillia, leaving its follow-up on the sidelines. We feared this split, yet a part of us kept fingers crossed for a two-for-one deal.

Just as with this year’s Graces f Remastered, the Switch build will sit steady at 30 fps (confirmed on the Japanese site) and outputs 1080 p docked or 720 p handheld, which is a step down from alternate platforms.

Yet a mountain of extras sweetens the pot. The official page’s “What’s New” section lists these alterations:

  • Boosted graphics
  • Grade Shop unlocked from the word go, now stocking a fresh bargain: “50 % off items”
  • All 40-ish launch-day DLC rolled in
  • Auto-saving
  • An Enemy Encounter switch that lets you sidestep scuffles altogether (barring scripted face-offs)
  • A Retry option inside normal battles
  • In-fight subtitles you can tweak at will
  • A dash toggle
  • World-map icons for main quest sites, side events, and yet-to-be-snagged loot
  • An auto-skip setting for cutscenes
  • Shiny new icons for Artes and fresh gear
  • Item blurbs added to the Jet Black Feather Trading Post
  • One button press in the Options or any Store screen rockets you back to the very top
  • Bulk selection for area development
  • Chests and pickups openable even when you’re sideways to them; proximity is enough
  • Zoomable map camera (close, default, or distant)
  • Customizable key mapping on the field and mid-combat
  • Fresh audio sliders affecting individual elements at whim
  • Swap at any moment between the English and Japanese vocal tracks
  • Buried typos and descriptors squashed in the Japanese script
  • Select lines of dialogue given a once-over.

In short, a truckload of minor flourishes has been added. Best of all, this adventure finally escapes the PS3 cage — reason to cheer!

The Digital Deluxe Edition arrives with a digital score, artbook, Battle BGM pack, and a Super Growth Support Herb kit. Placing a pre-order nets extra goodies like Life Bottles and restorative gels to ease the road ahead.

Above sits the reveal trailer; additionally, carve out a moment for Tales producer Yusuke Tomizawa’s quick video message.

Alana has played ball with Nintendo Life since 2022. Turning-based sagas hold her heart, but Nintendo runs a close second. She lives for obsessing over boss patterns, party builds, and story beats, and she still aspires to become a sky-sailing Sega buccaneer.
