The legendary kaiju has once again dominated the North American box office, with 2016’s Shin Godzilla triumphantly returning in a fresh 4K restoration. The re-issued title raked in $2.5 million during its debut weekend—already surpassing its entire original domestic tally of $1.9 million, an eye-catching feat for any foreign-language re-release.

Toho Studios crafted the picture, and specialty distributor GKIDS handled its latest U.S. theatrical run. Elsewhere, Legendary Pictures is already in production on the next MonsterVerse installment, officially dubbed Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, slated to stomp into theaters on March 26, 2027.

On the small screen, Apple TV Plus’ Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is prepping its sophomore season; shooting wrapped earlier this ye
