2B from NieR Automata isn’t the sole artificial intelligence figure now tied to the looter-shooter The First Descendant; the title is taking heat for running adverts allegedly cooked up by AI, some reportedly imitating actual influencers.

Redditor iHardlyTriHard rounded up four of these allegedly synthetic TikTok posts—found within a mere 15-minute swipe session—plus two more clips that only swapped in AI voice work. The red flags are unmistakable: erratic lip-sync and eerie vocal delivery.

“It’s a real slap in the face to the game’s own creators when Nexon pushes AI adverts instead of collaborating with real participants—especially when the Nexon Creators program has 8,800+ members eager for work,” the post emphasised.

Judge for yourself whether hawking a title with accolades voiced by completely fictitious presenters is above board, especially when one clip allegedly parrots streamer DanieltheDemon. His actual involvement, if any, is still hazy. (Props for the catch, Eurogamer.)

“It’s mortifying,” chimed another Reddit reply. “I honestly think these ads will drive people away. Anyone mildly curious will watch one and immediately go ‘never mind.’”

The First Descendant was already juggling past scandals. At launch it scrubbed several emblems that were accused of being straight lifts from Destiny 2 following community outrage.

A former PlayStation exec recently likened AI’s influence on gaming to Excel’s effect on accountants: transformative, yet meaningless without solid expertise.
