Feel like cutting through some surf on a high-speed run?
Hamster Corporation is dipping back into the ’90s today, bringing Namco’s 1996 aquatic racer Aqua Jet to both Switch and Switch 2 as part of its Arcade Archives and new Arcade Archives 2 line-up.
According to Hamster, the original cabinet turned heads back in the day thanks to its “oversized jet ski” design and guts built around Namco’s System 22 board.
“Feel the rush of carving over glistening waves beneath the blazing sun, all set in a vivid, vacation-style locale powered by the mighty “System Super 22”!”
“Our Arcade Archives line has meticulously preserved countless legendary coin-op gems. Players may tweak difficulty and other options, even re-create authentic CRT monitor layouts at will. Compete globally for leaderboard supremacy and relive the classics that helped forge an era.”
The Switch edition will set you back $14.99 USD, while Switch 2 owners pay $16.99 USD. Either way, it’s ready for purchase right now.
This fresh Arcade Archives 3D installment follows last month’s Air Combat 22 and Ridge Racer, now up on the Switch 2 eShop.
