Good luck with this one
If you’re looking for a good reason to revisit Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 as part of its “Enhanced” release today, even if you’ve completed the full game, we’ve got the answer for you – a new mode called Dark Rot.
In Dark Rot Mode, you’re challenged with completing Hellblade 2 on a difficulty level that’s higher than anything we’ve seen in the game before. If that wasn’t enough, you only get four lives… yes, this is a permadeath mode!
This is discussed in the trailer up above, and here’s a bit more about it courtesy of Xbox Wire:
“The Dark Rot from Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice has returned and offers an additional challenge for Senua on her quest to Iceland in this optional game mode. The Dark Rot will grow each time you fail, and if it reaches Senua’s head, her quest is over and all progress will be lost. Do you think you’re up to the challenge?”
There’s another big bonus if you’re able to achieve this feat – 100 extra gamerscore. Ninja Theory has added just the one new Xbox achievement to the “Enhanced” version of Hellblade 2, and it’s specifically for completing Dark Rot Mode.
The key thing to know is that Dark Rot Mode only becomes available once you’ve completed the game (on any difficulty level). Of course, you might decide that it’s a bit overkill for just one achievement – but don’t forget this Enhanced version also gives us 60FPS gameplay on Xbox Series X, an enhanced photo mode and developer commentary!
