That has to sting
In a little less than four weeks, on 8th September 2025, Baby Steps will finally land on PS5.
Brought to life by Devolver Digital and the creators behind Ape Out and Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, the title has lingered on the horizon for ages, and we’ve been itching to see what it’s all about.
Now, the newest trailer lays out more or less the entire picture:
Similar to the previously mentioned Getting Over It, Baby Steps drops you into an unforgiving terrain to traverse, helming a protagonist spectacularly ill-suited for the job.
You embody Nate—a thirty-something layabout yanked into a strange realm where he must rediscover how to operate his own legs.
The experience unfolds in a sandbox crammed with baffling geometry and perilous obstacles, and your mission is to scour its every nook, unearth secrets, and ultimately escort Nate back to his beloved basement couch.
Yet, as noted earlier, this is no cakewalk; simply nudging the left stick forward won’t cut it. Employ the triggers to manipulate each of Nate’s legs—turning an ordinary stroll into a cerebral tightrope act.
The clip above illustrates, frame by agonizing frame, how simple it’ll be to lose footing, plummet downhill, shed hard-won progress, and—almost certainly—your composure.
This test of composure can’t arrive quickly enough for us, but how does it sit with you? Ready to lace up for Baby Steps’ gauntlet? Tread carefully in the comments section down below.
