Talking Point: What Are You Hoping To See At Gamescom 2025?

It’s literally happening next week!

It might not feel like it, but we’ve got another major gaming event taking place next week! Yes, Gamescom 2025 is around the corner, and it’ll be highlighted by a special Gamescom Opening Night Live event taking place on August 19th.

This has a very similar format to the Summer Game Fest Showcase that we saw in June, and we’re expecting two hours of small-to-major reveals across both a pre-show and a main show – hosted, as always, by Geoff Keighley.

If you can’t remember, here’s a refresher of what was revealed at last year’s Gamescom ONL event:

Now, looking back at that, we’re not expecting anything too crazy from the 2025 version, although one or two Xbox Game Pass announcements may be sprinkled in there, along with plenty of exciting game reveals. In fact, we already know that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is getting its “worldwide reveal” at the show, and Hollow Knight: Silksong will likely get a release date – it’s being demoed alongside the ROG Xbox Ally in Germany next week.

Speaking of the Xbox Ally, it’s not just Gamescom Opening Night Live we need to keep an eye on – Xbox has also planned two livestreams for next Wednesday and Thursday that will likely include a bunch of low-key surprises. The only major surprise we’re expecting is a release date and price information for the ROG Xbox Ally, with pre-orders set to begin on August 20th if leaks are to be believed. That show on the Wednesday should be eventful, then!

We’ll be keeping you up to date with everything next week, but before we get there, what are you hoping to see at Gamescom 2025? Anything you’re particularly interested in? Let us know down in the comments section below.
