Pokémon Legends: Z-A Trial ‑ “Dive into the brand-new real-time battle mechanics in a handful of Trainer clashes set after sunset in Lumiose City, dash after Zygarde through the city’s avenues, then join Lucario to confront a rampaging Mega Absol in a blockbuster face-off! Earlier Report: Generating enormous buzz among fans, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is undeniably one of 2025’s most sought-after titles for Switch (and Switch 2). Although its full launch lands in October, there are a handful of opportunities to sample the adventure before the street date.
Word has gotten out that a hands-on, public build of the Switch 2 Edition will surface next week at the Pokémon World Championships 2025, hosted in Anaheim, California from 15th – 17th August, 2025.
The identical preview will also turn up at Gamescom seven days later, running from 20th – 24th August 2025. Exact details on the content remain a mystery for now, and it is still unclear whether a downloadable eShop demo will follow. We’ll pass along any fresh intel we uncover.
If we spot anything noteworthy during our hands-on time—or hear of additional locations getting the demo—we’ll pass the word along. This all follows July’s Pokémon Presents, where a fresh trailer unveiled Mega Dragonite and more surprises.
Meanwhile, Nintendo has also staged Switch 2 kiosks featuring public trials of titles such as Donkey Kong Bananza.
