Celestial Ruse of Reasoning

The freshest Suikoden Live has wrapped, and though followers of the franchise had wagered this extended broadcast would serve up fiery remaster reveals, we regretfully report that nothing PlayStation-flavoured materialised.
The bulk of the 20-minute segment spotlighted Suikoden Star Leap — the imminent mobile title. The remainder offered a peek at the accurately-titled Suikoden: The Anime, slated to air in 2026.
Once again, murmurs ran rampant ahead of this transmission — largely because Konami had teased a marathon 90-minute runtime. We’re still scratching our heads over where that extra hour vanished!
With Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster apparently cleaning up at retail, pressure mounts on Konami to turn its gaze toward later chapters. Suikoden 3 and 4, for instance — two oft-overlooked PS2 role-players many fans champion — would fit the remaster bill like a glove.
Do you reckon additional console Suikoden entries are in the pipeline? Raise your battalion down in the comments.

Robert (or Rob, if brevity is your thing) serves as assistant editor at Push Square and has pledged allegiance to PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 thrust him head-first into gaming’s wondrous universe. While he keeps his competitive fighting skills honed, RPGs remain his real obsession: The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — every world explored, some might argue a touch excessively.
