You’ll be able to play it live at Gamescom 2025!

So, the moment is finally here. After what seemed like an eternity of slips and tantalising crumbs, Hollow Knight: Silksong is about to break cover once more next month. Indeed, Team Cherry will bring the long-awaited sequel to Xbox’s Gamescom booth in August—complete with a slot during one of Microsoft’s scheduled livestreams.
So the real doubt is this: after all this waiting, do you still feel that buzz for Silksong? A quick scan of today’s Gamescom chatter suggests there’s still tons of anticipation—but what’s your vibe in 2025? Keep in mind, the moment it hits, you’ll be able to jump straight in on Xbox Game Pass day one, with no extra cost.
At PX HQ, that day-one Game Pass appearance is the hook. Hollow Knight was brilliant, and the follow-up has always been on our radar, yet so many other titles are vying for attention nowadays. Thanks to Game Pass, we can cherry-pick new additions every month to see what sticks—we just hope we absolutely adore Hollow Knight: Silksong when it joins the library.
As for the actual release date, that’s still up in the air—Gamescom might finally shine a light. Earlier this year, we caught wind that Silksong could drop within a handful of months, and although the rumoured June launch never materialised, it’s probably right around the corner. Case in point, getting hands-on with the full thing on ROG Xbox Ally next month suggests launch prep is in the home stretch.
Are you still pumped for Silksong? When do you reckon it’ll actually launch? Drop your boldest predictions below and share your excitement (or lack thereof!) in the comments.
