Frostpunk 2 Xbox Release Date Revealed, Coming To Game Pass This September

We finally have a date!

Frostpunk 2 made a very good impression when it launched on PC Game Pass last September, and now the team at 11 Bit Studios has announced that the console version is due to arrive pretty much exactly a year later – including on Xbox Game Pass.

Yep, the team’s atmospheric city builder finally makes its way to console on September 18th, 2025, including Xbox Series X|S. We’ve thrown the team’s new console release date trailer up above, and here’s a bit more about what to expect from Frostpunk 2 on XGP:

“Frostpunk 2 elevates the city-survival genre to a new level. Take the role of a Steward and lead your city through a cascade of calamities taking place in a postapocalyptic, snowy setting. Build large city districts with their string of endless needs and demands. Navigate through conflicting interests of factions that populate your metropolis. As the needs of the city grow and factional power at its core rises, only you can steer the society towards an uncertain future.”

As we mentioned up at the top, Frostpunk 2 got very impressive PC reviews back around launch, amounting to a Metacritic average of 85. Here’s hoping that the Xbox version can match that, especially with a good year or so of extra development time.

If you’re interested in even more Frostpunk, a new game in the series was recently announced as well. Frostpunk 1886 brings a reimagined version of the original game to market in 2027 – including an Xbox release powered by Unreal Engine 5.
