Talking Point: What Would You Like To See Ubisoft Do With ‘Ghost Recon’ On Xbox?

A follow-up has been officially announced

For quite some time, chatter has swirled around another core Ghost Recon entry being crafted within Ubisoft, and this week our colleagues over at Push Square relayed fresh remarks from the publisher that essentially lock in its existence. So, which path would you prefer the devs chart for the upcoming Ghost Recon?

Alongside earlier buzz, we’ve also heard hints suggesting the forthcoming instalment will embrace a grittier, more grounded style, though that detail hasn’t been rubber-stamped so far. Does that prospect appeal to you? Or would you rather Ubisoft double down on the sprawling, sandbox hijinks debuted in 2017’s Ghost Recon Wildlands?

We certainly had our fun with that 2017 release, yet when Breakpoint arrived roughly two years later, we’ll confess the formula had started to wear thin. Taken together, it feels like hitting the reset switch is the smart move for Ghost Recon’s next chapter—so we’re curious to see what Ubisoft’s team has been simmering on for the past six-ish years.

Glance at today’s FPS scene and realism plus authenticity look like major cravings among players, too. Games such as Delta Force and Ready Or Not are drawing massive player counts, hinting that Ubisoft might benefit by borrowing cues from those experiences. Whether they do or not, now seems like an opportune moment to inject Ghost Recon with fresh energy, whatever tack the devs ultimately adopt.

All told, what are your wishes for the next Ghost Recon? Rally your crew, chew it over, and share your take in the comments below.
