Both going fully offline in 2026
Earlier this month, we brought news of a few server shutdowns on Xbox in July & August, whilst also briefly mentioning that EA’s Anthem is set to be removed from storefronts next month as well – before going offline in 2026. Now, another big Xbox title is also being delisted in August and taken offline next year, alongside the BioWare RPG.
It’s been announced this week that Slightly Mad Studios racer Project CARS 3 will be removed from storefronts in late August, including on Xbox. At that time, the game and all of its DLC will unavailable on digital storefronts, before the game goes fully offline in early 2026.
Here are the exact dates that Anthem and Project Cars 3 will be delisted on Xbox:
- Anthem – August 15th, 2025
- Project CARS 3 – August 24th, 2025
From those dates, players won’t be able to grab Project CARS 3 from the Microsoft Store, or access Anthem via EA Play / Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (the BioWare title is already unavailable to buy separately). As for the games going fully offline, we have two separate dates for those as well:
- Anthem – January 12th, 2026
- Project CARS 3 – February 24th, 2026
It’s a shame to see both of these Xbox games go in the coming months, particularly Anthem as it can’t be played offline. With Project CARS 3, the game’s offline modes will remain fully playable beyond next February, and existing owners will still be able to redownload and access the game in future.
